Search by Waterbody Name

At the "enter keyword" prompt, type in the name of the waterbody that you are interested in finding scales for.

If you are unsure of the correct spelling, use the first 2 or 3 letters of the waterbody name to search.

Search by Watershed Code

Enter the watershed code for the waterbody that you are searching for. (Do not include hyphens in the watershed code). The Scale Library’s watershed codes are the new 45 digit codes.

If you are unsure the entire watershed code, use the first 3 or 4 digits of the watershed code to search.

Search by Species

The Species Search allows you to search for waters that have samples for specific types of species. If two species are searched for, all systems with either of the species will appear. To search for multiple species, separate each word with a space. The species search is not case sensitive. All species have been identified using the BC Fish Species Code

Example:

To find out those waters with both Cutthroat and Rainbow trout,
enter CT RB , and all systems with either species will be found.
