View Agenda (Updated!!!)

In May, 2004 a conference at TRU on internet mapping fostered the Kamloops - South Thompson Mapping and Capacity Partnership. The initial goal of the partnership was to create an internet atlas for the Kamloops-South Thompson area.

The Kamloops-South Thompson Sustainable Community Atlas is now a reality! During the past two years the partnership has grown, technology has evolved, and new opportunities to take advantage of internet mapping have been identified.

On May 26, a second conference will be held at the International Building at TRU titled "Using Internet Mapping to Support Kamloops Area Decision Making"

This conference is an opportunity for partners to have their staff receive a "hands on" orientation to the atlas in computer labs, learn about exciting new developments and resources available through internet mapping, and help plan the next phase of the Kamloops-South Thompson Sustainable Community Atlas.

Two "hands on" orientation sessions to the web atlas will be delivered concurrently in two computer labs - one session (Session B1) is for those attending with a natural resource management focus; the second session (session B2) is for those with a community development focus. When registering, please indicate which session you wish to attend, and whether you wish to participate in the morning or afternoon delivery of the session. Both Session A and the two Sessions B will be delivered twice. The intent is for participants in the conference to attend Session A and either Session B1 or Session B2.
